‘Mirage' is drawn from a recent and ongoing series that centres around observations between the camera and the sun, captured through motion picture. This series juxtaposes direct cinematic portrayals of the sun with abstract imagery reminiscent of celestial bodies, exploring the line between reality and illusion.

Originally conceived as handmade RA-4 colour prints using experimental darkroom techniques, ‘Mirage' has evolved into a site-specific motion picture installation for the 2024 Luma Festival. The installation captures the sun's mesmerising glow, expanding beyond the frame, and underscores the intriguing, sometimes perilous, allure of observing our closest star.
